Overview
The OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management provides a solid foundation for careers across various organizations. It prepares learners to be business ready with essential knowledge, confidence, and adaptability in business and management. The course covers core areas, including academic and research skills, global business, finance, business communication, leadership, and teamwork, blending theory with practical application. Graduates gain the skills needed for effective workplace performance and progression to further studies or employment in their chosen fields.
This qualification is intended for learners aged 18 and above and typically requires one of the following:
· A relevant Level 3 Diploma or equivalent qualification
· GCE Advanced level in two subjects or an equivalent qualification
· Mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience (subject to verification with the delivery centre)
English Language Requirements: Learners from non-majority English-speaking countries must provide evidence of their English language proficiency.
OTHM Level 4 qualifications provide practical skills, knowledge, and competencies, assessed academically as being on par with Higher National Certificates (HNC) and the first year of a three-year UK Bachelor's degree programme.
Qualification Structure
The OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management comprises six mandatory units, totaling 120 credits, with 1200 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
Mandatory Units:
· Academic Writing and Research Skills (20 credits)
· Business Operations (20 credits)
· Communication in Business (20 credits)
· Finance and Accounting (20 credits)
· Leading and Managing Teams (20 credits)
· Operating in a Global Context (20 credits)
This qualification is structured for completion over one academic year for full-time study, with flexibility to accommodate part-time and distance learning options. Delivery modes include face-to-face lectures, tutorials, seminars, as well as distance and online learning, available by us.
Each unit is internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, requiring learners to achieve all specified learning outcomes to pass.
To achieve a "pass" in a unit, learners must present evidence demonstrating that they have met the learning outcomes and assessment criteria. The assessor then evaluates this evidence, providing an audit trail to document the learner's achievements.
Completion of the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management opens pathways for a range of academic progression opportunities, including the OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Business Management.
As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners are eligible for direct entry into the second year of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme. For more information visit our website or contact us.
