  • Acquire a broad range of facts, theories, concepts, skills, materials, terminology, and practices relevant to workplace skills and employment.
  • Build self-confidence and interpersonal skills necessary for the work environment.
  • Enhance communication skills and boost personal effectiveness.

By completing this diploma, learners will be well-prepared with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to succeed in employment or pursue further studies.

  • The OTHM Level 3 qualifications are open to learners aged 16 and above.
  • While there are no specific entry criteria set by OTHM, the organisation ensures that learners accepted onto the course have the ability to engage with the learning and assessments at this level. OTHM centres are responsible for ensuring that learners are enrolled appropriately, allowing for successful learning, achievement, and progression. The course is conducted in English.
  • English Requirements: If a learner is from a country where English is not the primary language, they must demonstrate proficiency in English. For details, refer to the English Language Expectations page.

OTHM Level 3 qualifications reflect practical knowledge, skills, and competencies, assessed academically as comparable to GCE AS/A Levels.

The OTHM Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Employability and Workplace Skills includes six mandatory units, amounting to 60 credits, with a total qualification time (TQT) of 600 hours and 240 guided learning hours (GLH).

Mandatory Units:

  • Career Planning and Development (10 credits)
  • Managing Own Performance (10 credits)
  • Personal and Professional Development (10 credits)
  • Employment Skills (10 credits)
  • Working in a Business Environment (10 credits)
  • Managing Resources (10 credits)

This qualification is structured to be completed over one academic year for full-time study but offers flexibility to support part-time and distance learning options. It is delivered through approved centres via face-to-face classes, lectures, tutorials, seminars, and online learning.

All units within this qualification are assessed internally by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. This is a criterion-referenced qualification, meaning learners must demonstrate that they have met all specified learning outcomes to pass each unit.

To achieve a ‘pass,’ learners must provide evidence that they meet the assessment criteria, with the Assessor determining if the standards are met. An audit trail should be maintained to show how learners’ achievements were assessed.

Completing the OTHM Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Employability and Workplace Skills opens up pathways for both employment and further academic progress, including a range of OTHM Level 4 diploma courses. For more information, contact us.
