Level 7 Diploma in Project Management

Overview

The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Project Management has been designed to equip senior managers with a comprehensive understanding of the essential topics required to manage business projects in today’s complex and rapidly changing environment.

This qualification provides learners with a deeper insight into both theoretical and practical aspects of project, programme, and portfolio management, developing the crucial skills and competencies necessary to plan, monitor, control, and successfully deliver projects, programmes, and portfolios.

To enrol in the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Project Management, applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

· Hold an honours degree in a related subject, a UK Level 6 diploma, or an equivalent overseas qualification

· Be a mature learner with relevant management experience (applicants should confirm this with us before registration)

· Be at least 21 years old at the start of the course

English Requirements: Applicants from non-majority English-speaking countries must demonstrate English language proficiency.

The OTHM Level 7 diplomas on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) are equivalent in level to master’s degrees. However, they are shorter (120 credits); learners must complete an additional dissertation stage (60 credits) at a university to obtain a full master’s degree.

The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Project Management comprises five mandatory units, totalling 120 credits, with 1,200 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the entire qualification.

Mandatory Units:

· Planning, Controlling and Leading a Project (30 credits)

· Procurement, Risk and Contract Management (30 credits)

· Advanced Project and Logistics Management (20 credits)

· Operations and Information Management for Project Managers (20 credits)

· Advanced Research Methods (20 credits)

This qualification is structured to be completed over 6 months for full-time students, with flexibility for part-time and distance learners. It is delivered by us through face-to-face lectures, tutorials, seminars, and online learning.

All units in this qualification are internally assessed by us and externally verified by OTHM. The qualification is criterion-referenced, meaning learners must achieve all specified learning outcomes to pass each unit.

To pass, learners must present evidence demonstrating they meet the assessment criteria. Assessors evaluate this evidence to confirm that standards have been met, providing an audit trail to document the assessment process.

Completing the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Project Management enables learners to advance in their careers or continue their studies toward a relevant master’s top-up programme, with advanced standing at various universities in the UK and abroad.
