Overview
The OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management provides learners with a strong foundation for a successful career in various organizations. It ensures they are business ready with a deep understanding of business principles and management, along with the adaptability to navigate change. The curriculum combines theoretical and practical knowledge in areas such as business operations, finance, accounting, communication, leadership, and teamwork. Upon completion, learners are equipped with the skills and knowledge to either pursue further academic study or enter the workforce, prepared to excel in their chosen field.
The qualification is aimed at learners typically aged 18 and above.
To be eligible, learners should have at least one of the following:
· A relevant Level 3 Diploma or equivalent qualification
· GCE Advanced level in 2 subjects or an equivalent qualification
· Mature learners (21 years and older) with relevant management experience (learners should confirm their experience with the delivery centre before enrolling)
English Requirements: If a learner is from a non-majority English-speaking country, they must provide proof of English language proficiency.
The OTHM Level 4 qualification represents practical knowledge and skills equivalent to Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Year 1 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
The OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management consists of 6 mandatory units, totalling 120 credits, with 1200 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the qualification.
Mandatory Units:
· Academic Writing and Research Skills (20 credits)
· Business Operations (20 credits)
· Communication in Business (20 credits)
· Finance and Accounting (20 credits)
· Leading and Managing Teams (20 credits)
· Operating in a Global Context (20 credits)
This qualification is typically completed over 6 months for full-time study, though it is flexible enough to accommodate part-time and distance learning.
It is delivered through face-to-face lectures, tutorials, seminars, or online/distance learning with us.
All units are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of all specified learning outcomes.
To pass a unit, learners must demonstrate they have met all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria. The Assessor will provide an audit trail showing how the judgment of the learner’s overall performance was made.
Upon successful completion of the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management, learners have a wide range of academic progression opportunities, including advancing to the OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Business Management.
As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners are also eligible for direct entry into Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme. For more information, visit our website or contact us directly.
