The OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Business Management prepares learners for careers in diverse organizations, fostering independent thinking, adaptability, and comprehensive knowledge in business and management. This qualification covers essential topics, including leadership, strategic HR management, operations, sustainable practices, financial decision-making, and business research skills essential for management roles. Ideal for those starting or advancing careers in both the private and public sectors, the diploma equips learners with the skills needed for success. Upon completion, graduates are well-prepared for further studies or to enter the workforce with solid, practical business expertise.
To enrol in the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Business Management, learners should meet one of the following criteria:
· A relevant Level 5 diploma or an equivalent recognised qualification
· Mature learners (aged 21 and over) with management experience (please verify this with the delivery centre before registration)
· Learners must be at least 18 years old at the start of the course
English Requirements: If learners are from non-majority English-speaking countries, they must provide proof of English language proficiency.
The Level 6 qualification by OTHM provides practical knowledge and skills equivalent to Bachelor’s Degrees with Honours, Bachelor’s Degrees, Professional Graduate Certificates in Education (PGCE), Graduate Diplomas, and Graduate Certificates.
The OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Business Management consists of six mandatory units, amounting to a total of 120 credits, with 1200 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

The qualification is typically completed in 6 months for full-time study, but it also offers flexibility for part-time and distance learning. Delivery is face-to-face through lectures, tutorials, seminars, or online by approved centres.
Each unit is internally assessed by the delivery centre and externally verified by OTHM. This qualification is criterion-referenced, meaning that learners’ achievement is based on meeting all specified learning outcomes.
To pass each unit, learners must provide evidence demonstrating that they have met all learning outcomes and assessment standards. The Assessor will maintain an audit trail outlining how they evaluated each learner’s achievement.
Completing the Level 6 Diploma in Business Management allows learners a range of academic and career progression options, including advancement to relevant OTHM Level 7 Diplomas. This qualification was created with career development and professional recognition in mind. As it is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), successful learners may also gain direct entry to relevant Master’s degree programmes.
